Postpartum
My goal at New Moon is to help you get pregnant and deliver a healthy baby. And I am here for you after you give birth. Delivering a baby is one of the most physically demanding things you will ever experience. Natural medicine is very effective to aid healing, whether you delivered vaginally or had a c-section.
You will likely be discharged from your OBGYN or midwife at your 6 week postpartum follow up visit. However, I have found that people need continued support well past 6 weeks for:
– back pain
– lactation
– mastitis
– sleep
– fatigue
– mental/emotional support
Postpartum is a time of shifting priorities, fluctuating hormones, and irregular sleep. Whether this is your first child or subsequent, the postpartum period is challenging to navigate, you need support, and I am here for you.
What to Expect
Your First Postpartum Visit
Your first visit is an in-depth visit covering all relevant details about your health history, pregnancy, labor and delivery. We will discuss factors such as sleep, nutrition, stress, lactation (if you are nursing), and much more. I will review prior evaluations and lab work you have done and recommend any additional diagnostic testing that may be needed. You will leave the visit with tools that you can implement right away.
You will receive a customized nutrition and lifestyle plan as well as customized supplement and herbal recommendations.
